Describe
Three platters. The top, a landscape of a foreign planet. The middle, A snowman cut in half. The bottom, a stuffed tiger. All made of clay.
Analize
These pieces seek to use the element of form. The contrast also plays a roll. The form of elements on each plate contrast the blank space.
All inspired By Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes
Interpret
Top
Based on the iconic environments explored by Calvins alter ego "Space-Man Spiff." If you look close, the Space-Man's ship has landed amoungst the terrain of this fictitious planet.
Middle
Much to the chagrin of his parents, Calvin is famous for the unusual snowmen and monsters which he erects outside his home. This particular one is from the most famous of those snowy strips.
Bottom
Calvin is never alone on his adventures. Always by his side is the incredibly vivacious tiger: Hobbes. But, whenever Calvin's parents are around, Hobbes reverts to his stuffed animal self. This is the inspiration for my third platter.
Judge
I'm super happy with the way these turned out. Unfortunately two out of three of these pieces never got glazed due to time constraints. So Although im happy with the form, i could be a little happier with the finalization of the pieces.
